         Happy summer to everyone! I hope that you are enjoying the hot summer and managing to keep cool! There are many new things available for your reading enjoyment during these summer months. Barnes and Noble has a new book read to children each week at their web site, www.barnesandnoble.com  and click on kids. There are popular books read by celebrities and authors.This week is Smash! Crash! by Jon Scieszka.

This year I hope to be adding some new things to our classroom, so stop by again and I'll keep you up dated. Below is our supply list for September and if you need Crayola products, Toys R Us has a buy one get one free sale going on right now. Stay safe and see you soon.

 

Supply List for Grade 1   2010-2011

 1 box of 8 count large size or triangle crayons     2 large "My First Pencil" by Ticonderoga

  (These two items help with fine motor control and legible printing.)

 2 large pink erasers                                                1 box of 8 or 10 count basic color washable markers

 1 dry erase marker and eraser                                1 pair of blunt point scissors

 4 glue sticks                                                           1 plastic folder for papers going home

 2 boxes of tissues                                                  1 roll of paper towels

 1 smock for painting and other sort of messy work  1 back pack No wheels Please! 

 1 lunch box                                                             No Pencil Boxes

  Please label all of your student's clothing and supplies. Supplies should be left in their

  respective boxes in order to keep them from getting lost and aid in organization. 

  Please check the art supply list also, but you need not duplicate any of the items.
