Commonly Asked Questions During The First Week:
How can Mr. Goad be contacted if I have a question during non-school hours?
Mr. Goad has an open door policy. If there are any questions at all about anything (course work or otherwise) feel free to stop by any time, this could include before or after school or even on weekends.

What happens if a student is absent?
If absent, all in class assignments, tests and homework must be made up. It is the responsibility of the student to receive all related work missed during that day. All non-made up work will result in a zero.
Should I write in cursive or bubble letter?
Homework can be done in any handwriting, as long as it is legible. Homework not legible will be asked to be redone.
What materials do I need to bring with me every day?
Writing Utensil, Pen is preferable. Notebook, with lined paper. Three ring notebook is preferable.
Textbook Daily Assignment Book Daily Journal (Religion class only)
Bibles, Dictionaries and Atlases will provided. There are extra pens, pencils, and paper in class, however it is vital to come to class prepared every day.
Is there opportunity for extra credit?
Extra credit should never be needed as students for the first two marking terms have the option to retake tests and quizzes.
What happens to all tests and quiz grades?
All grades below a 70 will be asked to be signed by the student’s legal guardian. Notebooks will be kept and are to be checked by the end of the marking period. Each notebook check will result in a test grade.
All assigned research papers and projects will also receive the grade of a text. Students have access to all books located within the classroom as well as the school library to aid in these assignments. If other outside documents are needed Mr. Goad will do his best to help wherever necessary.
What is in my future?
Finals are being considered at this point.
Mr. Goad believes finals are important in preparing students for their future high school endeavors. Students will be asked to voice their approval or disapproval.

What is Pleasure Reading?
Pleasure reading is something everyone should be doing. Each student should come to the classroom with a pleasure reading book. When students have FREE TIME they should take this opportunity to read their pleasure reading book. If a student does not have a pleasure reading book one will be provided. At the end of each marking term a mandated book report will be due and counted as a test grade. Students will get to choose which subject they would like this test grade to count towards. Only subject options are Religion, Geography, or History.
What if further extra credit is needed?
In order for an extra credit assignment to be considered, all assignments for the marking term must be turned in. If all assignments are turned in (homework, class work, projects, papers) a student then has the option to write an extra pleasure reading book report.
What are the classroom rules?
1. Respect the teacher, fellow classmates and your classroom.
2. No fighting.
3. No yelling, arguing or use of inappropriate language.
4. Clean up after yourself.
5. Do not use computers unless given prior approval.
6. Do not use the classroom phone, unless an emergency or given prior approval.
7. If need to use the restroom, raise hand and wait to be called on. If allowed sign out and take bathroom pass. When return, sign in and return the bathroom pass.
8. No gum.
9. Follow the dress code.
10. No cell phones.
What happens if these classroom rules are broken?
Disciplinary measures will be taken if any of the above rules are broken.
Disciplinary actions may be, but are not limited to:
1. Extra Assigned and Graded work
2. Recess Detention
3. Phone Call Home
4. After School Detention
What is the grading policy?
Tests: 50% (Any reports, projects or notebook checks will be scored as an individual test grade.)
Quizzes: 25%
Homework + Class work + Participation: 25%
